Are you worshiping Jesus or something finite?  What motivates you that you love, trust, and obey?  Because if it’s more important than God, it will lead to ruin.  And the crazy thing is that we worship things that only God can provide like comfort, approval, and control.  Idols aren’t merely the bad things, but they are the good things that take the place of God.  But in the end, only the Lord provides an identity.  We don’t need comfort, approval, or control from anyone other than Christ.  Because trying to find satisfaction in school, our body image, or our relationships is a battle of allegiance.  And you will lose if you choose one over the Lord.
